Why this works when LinkedIn has no bold button

Unicode, the standard every device uses for text, includes complete alphabets that look bold, italic, monospaced or handwritten. The generator swaps each of your letters for its look-alike. Since the result is still text, LinkedIn shows it like any other text, and the style survives copy and paste.

Software sees different characters, though. That's why the same trick can confuse screen readers and LinkedIn search, and why it's worth using on a few words rather than everything.
